about us

Our Philosophy

In our modern world, our homes have become a sanctuary where we seek peace & renewal. We want to surround ourselves with a calming environment to create a cozy safe haven. A place where we welcome friends and family to share in our lives and celebrate occasions both special and commonplace.

At Allisonville Home & Garden, we want to help you create a home and garden that provides a retreat for both renewal and play, and a beautiful backdrop to welcome those special people in your life.

Our History

In 1976, Jeff Gatewood hung a handmade sign and began Allisonville Nursery with 15 spruce trees, hand-dug from a Michigan farm. The 3-acre plot was across from the family's airport in Fishers, Indiana. The land was carved out of farmland that had been in the family for nearly 30 years and once housed a 20' x 40' flower shop run by Jeff's mother.

In 1985, after too many close calls with small aircrafts, Allisonville Nursery moved a half mile north to the current location. We also grew to 5 acres, added a greenhouse, and expanded into a 7,500 sq. ft. garden store and gift shop.

Present Day

In 2020, Sullivan Hardware purchased Allisonville Nursery to serve the Fishers area. The Sullivan family is working hard to preserve the traditions of the business and expand it into a unique shopping destination for Central Indiana. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for guests by creating a fresh & fun feel in our store as they find the best products in home decor, gifts, houseplants, and nursery stock.

Allisonville Home & Garden is consistently adding new features to its location. In 2021, Maggie's Bistro opened to offer guests casual dining, artisanal barista coffee, local craft beers, and a superb wine selection. In 2022, our Events building opened to the community for special events like Evening in the Garden and Tater Fest.

Allisonville Home & Garden continues to broaden its ability to connect and provide memorable experiences for guests through community events. Ranging from informational evening garden workshops to a month-long Halloween family experience known as Pumpkin Town. Events at Allisonville are designed to bring families and individuals together for fun-filled experiences for all ages.
